Bone Fragility vs Density: Innovation for diagnosis and treatment in an aging population

Which bone is stronger

The number of patients who will suffer from a fragility fracture is rising around the world. 1 in 3 women and 1 in 5 men will experience a fragility fracture during their lifetimes, and people are living longer. Fragility fractures of the hip often lead to permanent disability or even death, due to immobility. Current diagnostic tools (imaging) are poor at identifying individuals at risk prior to fragility fracture, and innovation in needed to address the growing crisis.
