AI: How Can it be Used to Deceive and/or Defend Us?
Artificial Intelligence is arguably the biggest thing to hit the tech world since the inception of the internet itself. While policymakers and regulators debate the effects it will have on society, average people are already experiencing the benefits, whether they know it or not. But, with every major advance in technology, there are always those ready to exploit it for illicit gain.
Brian Milburn, CEO/Founder Solid Oak Software
Brian Milburn, an established software developer since 1985, has recently introduced TurboAI, which integrates with OpenAI's ChatGPT and DALL-E models, providing access to generated text and images through a pay-as-you-go model. Solid Oak Software and 27labs, his software companies, produce CYBERsitter. This product, initially released in the 1990s and still available today, safeguards children from age-inappropriate content on the internet. Other products from his companies focus on computer security, including products to block malicious server intrusions, block unwanted ads, and detect system intruders. Milburn's expertise was crucial in the passage of the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA). He also provided research on online safety to the former California governor George Deukmejian, Senator Patty Murray, and Senator John McCain.
