5G: Technology Innovation under the Hood

5G wireless networks are being deployed globally to increase bandwidth and to support massive machine-2-machine communication with secure, reliable transmissions. To enable the transition to 5G, radical changes to the RF front end used by smartphones are needed. In addition, spectrum allocation differences between the US and the rest of the world and propagation and interference issues at the target wavelengths will lead to design constraints. Dr. Eddy will focus on the challenges presented by 5G and additional market changes imposed by the US-China trade war.
