Improvised Explosive Devices: The World’s Strangest Technology

Improvised Explosive Devices in the hands of terrorists and paramilitary forces currently threaten twenty countries in the world. They are the largest single cause of tragic US combat deaths and injuries in Iraq and are the cause of untold suffering by civilians, as well. From the Co-Presidents: The holidays are approaching and it is nearly time to consider renewing your annual SEC membership. Please keep an eye out for your renewal letter and take a moment to complete and return the form. This will keep our membership strong as we continue to support local students through Science Fair awards and Scholarships; and as we promote science and engineering dialogue in the Greater Santa Barbara Area. Visit the SEC website to learn about the talented individuals who have benefited from past awards and scholarships. Please join us in November and watch for other upcoming programs, and bring a friend!

Reminder - we are seeking volunteers who can occasionally bring a laptop projector to our luncheon meetings. Please contact Barbara at the number above if you would like to help out. Thanks!
