Big Brother is Watching (But You're in Control)
Low-Power, Wireless Mesh Networking Technology and Industry

IEEE 802.14.5 mesh networking has long held great promise for industry and consumers (and for Santa Barbara start-up companies). Small, cheap, low-power transmitter/receiver nodes, when embedded into many devices, can form a data communication “mesh.” Each node in the mesh can send its own data, and repeat data from other nodes, allowing the mesh to cover a wide area, even with low power.

Yet, despite the promise to both industry and consumers, products using the technology have been slow to reach the market.

The speakers will review the state of mesh networking in industry from both technology and business standpoints and boldly make predictions as to the direction of the technology and industry.
