Energy's Contribution to Global Energy:
The Role of Technical Innovation
The world market for windpower is growing rapidly--over 30% per year recently. Industry volume now exceeds $5 billion per year. Dr. Mikhail will describe the development and testing of a 90+ meter diameter, 2.5 megawatt wind energy conversion system. He'll tell us how technical innovation helped reduce the cost of energy generation, and will talk about the role of wind energy in meeting future electrical demands, which are projected to nearly double in the next 25 years.
